René-Jules Lalique, master jeweler of Art Nouveau, changed his medium from metal to glass—and earned a place in history. Roughly a century after its opening, his Verrerie d’Alsace glassworks continues to produce some of the world’s most extraordinary crystal. 

Crystal stretched and worked in its molten state becomes undulating waves of light delivering the subtle sensation of motion. Folding and unfolding, the lines draw parallels with the art of origami while the down and up strokes evoke feelings of many vibrations.
